We are a SVERAK/FIFe registered cattery in west Sweden, breeding Norwegian Forest cats. We are also members of Spinneriet, Skogkattslingan and Norsk Skogkattring.
There are many breeders of Norwegian forest cats today, especially in Sweden, so there are no use producing too many kittens. All matings should be well planned, and every mating should be for the better of the breed.
We are a small scale cattery, with three breeding females and our two happy neuters. The cats are a part of our family and live with us mainly for company. The intention with our cattery is to have one litter a year as average and to plan our litters well.
Since cats are mostly at home, the temper is the first and most important consideration. A forest cat is know as a large, heavy cat with full coat and tufts on their ears, and that is what we want to preserve. They should naturally also follow the FIFe standard.
We enjoy going to cat shows to meet other breeders/exhibitors and visitors, and mainly we show our females. It is also important to take a look at other cats and hear what the judges have to say. Since the forest cats often loose their nice fur in the summer, we mainly go to shows between autumn and spring.
