We are a SVERAK/FIFe registered cattery (since 1997) in Western Sweden, breeding Norwegian Forest cats. We are also members of GRK and the Norwegian Forest Cat related clubs: Norsk Skogkatt United, Skogkattslingan, and Norsk Skogkattring. Ulrica is a diplomated breeder in SVERAK, approved November 28, 2008.
We are a small scale cattery with two males, three females and one host cat. Two neuters share our home and everyday life as well. The cats are a part of our family and take part in our everyday life. As we live on the countryside, far away from big roads, the neuters are allowed to roam freely on our grounds and they love it! The fertile cats have a newly built cat run in natural environment in which they can spend time now and then, as they like. We think that harmony amongst cats and people are of utmost importance. The intention with our cattery is to have few litters with healthy and harmonical, well-typed kittens each year and to plan our litters well according to our long-term goal.
Since cats are family members in their homes, the temperament and health is the first and most important consideration when choosing breeding cats. A forest cat is known as a harmonical and strong-built cat with an equilateral triangular head, double coat and tufts on their ears, and that is what we want to preserve. They should of course also follow the FIFe standard. We believe that the non-matting, waterproof coat and the look makes the forest cat special, and our focus is on these traits. Not to disregard the rest of the qualities, of course.
We enjoy going to cat shows to meet other breeders/exhibitors and visitors. It is also interesting to study other forest cats and listen to the judges' comments. One can always learn something new!
Our family consists of Lars, Ulrica, our daughter Joanna and our son Elias.
We think it is important that our children
learn how to handle cats correctly and they
do not chase or scare the cats, but the cats get quite used to
being carried around, especially the kittens...
Ulrica finished her PhD studies in mathematical statistics (with applications
in molecular biology) just before Joanna was born and now work with
cancer epidemiology research.
Lars is a computer consultant and work at our small farm.
We live on a homestead situated in the forest not far from Gothenburg, close to Landvetter airport. Guests are always welcome!
